Why UV, Installed Right

A UV Light System Is Only as Good as the Install

Any UV bulb will glow. What Elite AC does is make sure the system is positioned where the airflow actually passes, sized to your coil and ductwork, and sealed properly so conditioned air stays inside the equipment — not leaking out a rushed mounting hole.

  • Coil-matched sizing — UV output and distance tuned to your evaporator coil, not guessed.
  • Sealed air-handler penetration — no conditioned-air leaks from a rushed mounting hole.
  • Power and ballast handled by a licensed HVAC crew — not a homeowner wiring workaround.
  • Bulb replacement calendar built into your maintenance schedule — so output doesn’t quietly fade.

What We Do

UV Light Services We Provide in Florida

Three jobs we see most often on UV-C air purification systems — handled end-to-end by our licensed HVAC crews.

01

New UV Light Installation

We install UV-C light systems in homes across Northeast and Central Florida, matched to your air handler and ductwork. Install, seal, power, and a quick airflow check before we leave.

02

UV Bulb Replacement & Service

UV bulbs lose output over time — sometimes while still visibly on. We replace bulbs on schedule, check the ballast, and make sure the unit still belongs in your system.

03

Upgrade or Replace an Older UV Unit

Older UV units that are dim, corroded, or no longer compatible get removed and replaced with a current, properly-sized system — plus a clean look at the air handler while we’re there.

How UV Works

How UV Light Works in Your HVAC System

This is the part most homeowners rarely get a straight answer on. Here’s what we actually check — in plain language, not marketing copy.

Coil-Mounted vs In-Duct

There are two common places to mount a UV system: right next to the evaporator coil, or inside the return duct. Each does something slightly different. We pick the one that fits your system and the result you actually want.

UV-C vs UV-V — Two Different Technologies

UV-C is the common residential technology — short-wavelength light that breaks down microorganisms on the coil and in airflow. UV-V is a separate technology aimed at odors and VOCs by generating ozone. Most residential installs today are UV-C, and that’s what we recommend for Florida homes.

Sizing to Your Coil and Ductwork

UV output has to match the air volume and the coil surface area it’s treating. A small plug-in wand and a properly-sized in-duct system are not the same thing. We size the unit to your system before quoting.

What UV Light Does Not Do

UV isn’t a replacement for filter changes, duct cleaning, or humidity control. It’s one layer in a healthy indoor-air setup. We’ll tell you up front if UV is the right next step or if something else should come first.
